Meet the Tutors

Idit Gold B.Mus. - the founder of Singing in London is passionate about teaching people to sing and has always engaged them in performing. Watching her members developing their singing skills and their confidence is her ultimate achievement and pride.

Feedback from workshop attendees

Beginners wk 12 April 15 small

Idit and Kierans’ workshop exceeded expectations for me.  Really enjoyed the day and loved the singing.  We also learned very valuable new techniques for improving and optimising the voice.  Well paced, structured and friendly.  I left the course singing down the road and the tunes continued to bring me joy all day long.”

Debby Konigsberg, Beginners Workshop, April 2015

I attended the Vocal Coaching Workshop for Beginners and was very pleased to find that, as well as singing two songs (one being harmonized),  we participated in important breathing and posture techniques.

Previous Workshops

The West End Musicals Singing Workshops

Sunday 12 July 2015 - Featuring songs from Les Misérables

An 'open to all' singing workshop whatever your previous singing experience or level. Focusing on two songs from this famous musical - At the end of the day and Do you hear the people sing. You will learn vocal techniques and performing skills in the first 'singing' session. The workshop will end with the a group performance and opportunity for solo parts. Both songs are powerful and fairly long so this workshop promises to be intensive, exciting and great fun.

Sunday 26 April - Featuring songs from Miss Saigon & Matilda

Whether you are a total beginner or an experienced singer you'll enjoy singing fabulous songs from the West End and training your voice at the same time.

In the first session of the workshop we'll teach you basic breathing and vocal techniques and show you some performing skills which you'll be using later in the singing session.

You'll be coached individually as well as working with the group. Kieran and Idit will prepare you for a short performance at the end of the workshop. We’ve chosen the most beautiful songs from the Musical Miss Saigon:  I’d give my life for you & Last night of the world, and a charming song from the musical Matilda: When I grow up.

Beginners Vocal Workshop

Learn how to develop your singing voice from total scratch

Sunday 12 April 2015, 1 0:30-14:30hrs £25.50

Highgate, London

This workshop will teach you the 'must learn' singing essentials of breathing techniques and vocal skills rights from basic.

We will show you how to transform your speaking voice into a singing voice through practical techniques. You'll be able to use the techniques also for presentations and public speaking. It's intensive, fun and entertaining!

Learn how to:

  • Breath correctly in order to project your voice - the air that you breathe is the fuel that makes you sing.
  • Develop your singing voice from scratch to a smooth singing voice - learn how to open your vocal cords and to use them.
  • Build singing confidence - you'll practise singing with the group as well as solo singing to build up your confidence.

We have chosen a few popular songs for your practise. Once you book your place on the workshop we'll email you the song sheets with web links so you can practise in advance.

The follow up program

Following your attendance at the beginners workshop we’ll email you a daily workout program you can practise in your own time and keep up with your singing skills.

"I loved the workshop.  I thought it was very well organised.  As a complete beginner, the focus on interactive learning (i.e. theory, practice and feedback) was very helpful.  I came away with a lot more confidence but, rather than just a feeling of increased confidence, I have learnt techniques that could develop my singing voice." Elaine, Beginners Workshop, January 2015

At the end of the workshop you'll be presented with a Certificate of Achievement for having completed the workshop program. It will help you to assess the skills and knowledge you have learnt.
